I first started in SEO after I built my first website in 2002. Like many people I paid to have a beautiful e-commerce site designed only to find out that in order to sell my products... I needed to get listed in the search engines. I soon found out that just submitting your site to the search engines didn't mean your site would show up in the first 1000 results. So I started to read everything I could to learn about how to rank in the search engines. I started with Pay Per Click ads on Google and Yahoo which worked pretty well... but I wanted to rank for free of course. I started to read and participate in the seo forums and learned all the ins and outs of the Google algorithm, and the algorithms of the other major search engines. I've always practiced white hat seo techniques since I know that algorithms will change as time goes on, and I want my sites to continue to rank well in the search engines for the long term.
I have a Business degree from The University of Arizona with majors in both Entrepreneurship and Marketing, and I love to start new businesses. The web is so much fun! Where else can you start a business for so little money and so much upside potential! After starting 8 different successful website businesses (all of them are still running and growing), I started helping out family and friends build and get rankings on the search engines for their sites. I've even worked on multilingual global sites. I'm at the point now where very few people in the world have more seo experience and seo knowledge.
